The “So What?” Upgrade Pack

Four moves with ready prompts that turn generic AI output into a recommendation a manager would actually act on.

Four moves that turn raw AI output into work a manager would actually act on.

AI is good at producing answers. It is bad at deciding why they matter. That gap is your job, and it is where junior work reads either as a relay or as a recommendation.

The four moves

From summary to stakes. A summary is not a recommendation. Push for the so-what and the next step.

From what to why. State the reason and the implication, not just the event.

From generic to grounded. Force the output to use your actual goal, audience, and constraint.

From confident to checked. Make the AI surface the claims that need a source before you use them.

Why it matters

Work that just relays AI output reads as entry-level. Work that adds the so-what, grounds it in specifics, and verifies the load-bearing claims reads as a professional who used AI, not one who could be replaced by it. Pair with the Task Spec Quick-Start and the post From Executor to Orchestrator.
