What you’ll find out

Three answers, the same day you take it.

Where you’re strong

Pillars you’re already at Proficient or above.

Skills you can put on a résumé today. Use these as your anchor in interviews, they’re how you talk about being AI-fluent without overclaiming.

Where you’re at risk

Gaps that could cost you in your first 90 days.

Identify the pillars that could create real problems, before they surface in front of a manager or client rather than in practice.

What to learn next

A prioritized list of skills to build first.

Pillar-by-pillar development plan with curated reading and worksheets, so you’re not spending time on what you already know.

The reality

The work is changing now. Getting ready is up to you.

Course catalogs change slowly. AI changes fast. More schools are teaching AI every term, but few teach it systematically, and the work you’ll be handed in your first job won’t wait for a syllabus update.

GAIL exists because you own your AI literacy. Not your school. Not your future employer. You.

What you get

Five things, the moment you finish.

Your overall AI-literacy score

A single number, 0–100, that you can talk about in interviews. Plus the band (Novice / Developing / Proficient / Advanced).

Pillar-by-pillar breakdown

All 7 competencies scored independently, so you know what’s strong and what’s a gap, not just the average.

A prioritized learning plan

Specific reading and practice for the pillars that move the needle most. No generic ‘use AI more’ advice.

Downloadable PDF report

Shareable with a career advisor, manager, or potential employer.

Free retakes, any time

Track movement over a learning sprint. Retake the assessment once you’ve worked on your weakest pillars and see what changed.

FAQ for students

The questions other students ask first.

Taking the assessment5 Q’s

About 12 minutes. It’s 21 questions, three for each pillar. Your progress saves in your browser, so if you step away you can pick up where you left off, as long as you’re back within about 30 minutes.

Yes. The assessment, your pillar-by-pillar report, and the downloadable PDF are all free for individual students. No card on file.

No. You’ll see your full results without giving us an email. When you finish, your answers and scores are saved on our side, along with the answers you gave at the start (your year in school, your major, and how often you use AI) and how long you took, so we can show peer comparisons and improve the questions. Your name and email are only attached if you add them. You can email your results to yourself or copy a share link. Both are optional. If you’re taking it through a class link from an instructor, the link may ask for your email before you start, and your results are emailed to you when you finish.

Yes, whenever you want. There’s no waiting period. We recommend retaking after a focused learning sprint, about 4–6 weeks, to see what moved.

Yes, the score only makes sense across all of them. But each pillar is short (three questions each), so the whole assessment takes about 12 minutes.

Privacy & sharing2 Q’s

If you take the assessment on your own, we don’t share your results with your school, your career center, or anyone else. If you share your results link, anyone with the link can see that page.

If you took it through a class link from an instructor, it works differently. Your instructor can see how the class did as a group, and depending on how the class link was set up, they may also see your individual results: your email, the answers you gave at the start, your scores, how you answered each question, and how much you moved between your first and second attempt. If you’re not sure which applies to you, ask your instructor or email privacy@getailiterate.ai.

Yes. Email privacy@getailiterate.ai from the address you used, or send us your results link, and we’ll delete your results and confirm by email once it’s done. There isn’t a self-serve delete button yet, so email is the way for now. If you took it through a class link and your instructor could see individual results, they may already have saved a copy. We can’t delete that one for you, so ask them too.

Using the results2 Q’s

Lead with your strong pillars. Show the report PDF if asked, it reads like a transcript. The framework is new, so assume the person across the table hasn’t seen it. The PDF explains it on the first page, and the more useful move is talking about what you did with what you learned.

That’s the point of taking it now, while you have time. The report tells you exactly which 2 to 3 pillars to focus on, and you can retake it after you’ve worked on them to see what changed.
